About the accommodation

This lakeside warehouse from the 1850s is beautifully situated right next to the Åkers canal and the bridge – in the heart of the historic centre that was once an important hub for shipping, trade and life along the waterway. The house has been carefully renovated across three floors, with its original character and period details preserved.

On the entrance level, you are greeted by timber logs, a wood-burning stove, and a pleasant social area with a spacious kitchen island, a dining area for 8–10 people, a small seating area with a view of the water, and a corner sofa with a TV – a relaxed blend of atmosphere and function.

The inter-room contains a bathroom with a shower and washing machine, a bedroom with a 140cm bed, and an open living area with a 160cm bed and a 90cm bed. Curtains screen off the sleeping areas, creating a calm atmosphere.

The wind planet offers more of the magazine's original character – with a 180 bed, a 90 bed, a corner sofa with TV, a small workspace, and a toilet. (An extra bed can be arranged for a fee).

Please note: The accommodation is not child-friendly. The stairs are steep (original from the 1800s), the windows are low, and there are no child safety locks. The house is not adapted for accessibility.

Guest access

Guests have the house entirely to themselves with a private entrance. Nearby are the farm's other buildings where our charming café and canoe rental are open during the summer months. (We live in one of the houses on the farm ourselves).

A small jetty and a bench by the canal/lake are available for use – a lovely spot for morning coffee or a quiet moment near the water. Parking is available right by the house. (NB – no electric car charging). Canoes and a few bicycles are available to hire.

Other things to note

Bed linen is included for winter stays. Basic provisions such as candles, soap, washing-up liquid, flour and spices are available for use. Kitchen towels are included.

The accommodation must be left in the same condition as on arrival – cleaning is not included.

"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"
