ACCOMMODATION

Smedstugan, Norrtälje

In the middle of Roslagen's rural tranquility awaits a cosy little cottage of 18 sqm - perfect for those who want to read, write, hike in the woods or just enjoy the country. Here you live with simple but cosy standards, nature right next door and the morning sun as company on the patio, with the peaceful presence of the farm's chickens, ducks and other animals around.

About the accommodation
The cottage has a 140cm bed with fresh sheets, a small kitchen with basic cooking equipment and a bathroom with a shower, sink and Separett toilet (screened off with a curtain). There are also board games and books for quiet evenings. Bed linen, towels and final cleaning are always included, and in colder weather radiators can be used. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase in the cottage.

Bicycles, barbecues, charcoal and deckchairs are available to borrow, and a breakfast basket can be provided all year round - with contents varying according to season and availability on the farm.

The farm and its surroundings
The cottage is on a small self-catering farm with chickens, quails, ducks, honeybees and cats (which we try to keep out of the cottage). Here it is quiet, but with a vibrant farm life where roosters and animal sounds belong to the atmosphere. Roslagsleden and nice swimming spots are nearby, and about 3.5 km away there are frequent buses to Norrtälje, Stockholm and Grisslehamn. The ferry crossing to Åland-Finland can be reached in 30-40 minutes by car.

Access for guests
The cottage, the terrace, the outdoor furniture, the deckchairs, the barbecue and the bicycles are entirely at your disposal. The accommodation is non-smoking and pets are unfortunately not allowed.

The cottage is carefully renovated with a lot of recycling to keep the environmental footprint small - a simple, natural accommodation in the countryside.

"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"
