Birgitta's Ladder

The Birgitta Trail is a short hiking trail between Birgitta Spring and Skederid Church. Along the approximately 500 metre long path you will encounter quotes from Saint Birgitta's texts, taken from her many revelations. The walk goes through lush nature with open views of the landscape.

Birthplace of St Birgitta in Finsta

The birthplace of St Birgitta, Finsta, is a historical destination with Birgitta's prayer cave and Skederid church with the Birgitta Stone and the exhibition about Finsta and Birgitta.

Åkersberga church

In the middle of Åkersberga, on Bergavägen 13, you will find Österåker's smallest church and here you will also find the Åkersberga Church Centre with its office.

Österåker church

Österåker church was built as a parish church, like almost all other churches in Uppland during the early Middle Ages. We do not know who started the construction in Akers parish, there were probably several great men in the parish.

Ljusterö church

In the early 1750s, a new church was built on the archipelago island of Ljusterö in Österåker. The new church was built in horizontal timber, with a tower and red-coloured panels on the outside of the church body

Roslags-Kulla church

The church was consecrated in 1706 and was commissioned by Fabian Wrede, then owner of the neighbouring Östanå Castle. It replaced a chapel from the 17th century.
