Alundalej is inspired by the croft on the hill, where the Runeberg Lodge and the Alunda folk dance team once gathered people for music, theatre and fellowship. In the design, we wanted to link the forest, the croft and the playground - a place that will be developed together with the residents and that invites both play and stories.
Several parts of the playground are inspired by the local folk tradition, with elements from fairy tales, folk songs, personalities and costumes that have characterised the area.
Two speaking tubes dressed in a beaked watch pattern in the play village celebrate Rune Selén, som växte upp i Foghammar, Alunda. Selén inledde 1959 en femtioårig pionjärgärning i tillverkningen av traditionella näverlurar. Han tillverkade över 11 000 numrerade lurar med signaturen S., där intäkterna gick till kyrkans verksamhet. 2005 grundades Rune Seléns kulturfond för att förvalta och föra vidare gamla nordiska folkmusiktraditioner som näverlurar, kulning och vallmusik. Samma år arrangerades en officiell hyllningskonsert till hans ära på Kungliga Musikaliska Akademiens hus i Stockholm.

One of the houses in the play village påminner om näverhuset i Elsa Beskows klassiker Hattstugan.
In the rubber mat under the large playpen notes are visible as a nod to the musical history of the place.
Rosa's path which starts at the edge of the forest, is a short audio walk suitable for pre-school children accompanied by adults. ”Rosa is a moose who loves to dance. She wants to invite the Boy for a swing but can't find him anywhere. He has blue eyes, red cheeks and is as furry as a troll. Will you help her find him?”. A mobile phone is needed to scan the QR codes that lead to the audio tracks. The audio walk is inspired by Alundavisan and is developed by artists HildeMarie Farstad Broady and Sofia Hildebrandt, inviting children and adults to discover stories and nature together.

Plenty of seating, a barbecue area and an accessible toilet create the conditions for socialising and staying in the playground for longer.
Rope course and boules court, more activities for different ages. By expanding the activities, we hope that the park will attract movement for many different ages.
