Norrtälje bathhouse

The bathhouse in Norrtälje is the largest and best equipped in Central Roslagen. Here you will find, among other things, 25-metre pools, slides, diving towers and a relaxation area.

Norrtälje art centre

Norrtälje konsthall shows contemporary art by artists from both the local area and the international scene. Each exhibition is framed by screenings, talks, lectures and activities for children.

Pythagoras Industrial Museum & Children's Pythagoras

The Pythagoras spark-ignition engine factory was in operation from around 1898 to 1965. Today the factory remains in pristine condition and, together with the office and workers' housing, it is a living industrial museum with guided tours. There is also the Children's Pythagoras where the real engine factory is conveyed in children's tapestry. The factory's old forge now houses a café and souvenir shop.

Roslagsmuseet

Roslagsmuseet displays, cares for and preserves the common cultural heritage of Norrtälje municipality. Here you will find temporary exhibitions, guided tours, school programmes and holiday activities for children and young people. The museum also organises lectures, workshops and other programmes for all ages.

Torsten Nordström Museum

Torsten's time capsule - a collector's world in colour and form. A personal museum in the centre of Norrtälje that provides a unique insight into the life and collections of paint dealer Torsten Nordström from the early 1900s. A home preserved exactly as he left it - full of pipes, porcelain and personal stories.

Tractor Museum - Veterantraktorklubben Norrtelje

At Färsna Farm in Norrtälje, the Tractor Museum is located in the old barn where visitors can explore and take a closer look at tractors and other agricultural artefacts from different eras.

The river promenade

Take a 3-kilometre heritage walk along the Norrtälje River. Here you can see various historical sites and buildings. You can also read about the history of old buildings on the signs along the way.

Borgmästarholmen

Out on the island of Borgmästarholmen in Norrtälje, a path runs around the island. Borgmästarholmen can be accessed via a footbridge and the island is located northeast of the Kärleksudden bathing area.

Färsna nature reserve

Färsna nature reserve includes Färsna farm and the surrounding agricultural and forest landscape. Here you can walk in undisturbed forest and meet a living farm with animals, crops, nature school and tractor museum.

How do I get from Stockholm to Norrtälje?

The most common way is by bus from the Royal Institute of Technology, which takes just under an hour. It is also possible to drive via the E18. During the summer, many visitors arrive by boat or in connection with onward journeys into the archipelago.

The best time to visit Norrtälje is during the summer months, from June to August. This is when the weather is warmest and most pleasant, with long daylight hours perfect for exploring the archipelago and enjoying outdoor activities.

Summer is the most popular, especially from June to August when the harbour, outdoor seating areas, and events are at their most active. Spring and autumn are well-suited for nature experiences and quieter visits to the city centre.

Can you get out to the archipelago from Norrtälje?

Yes. From Norrtälje town, you can reach several parts of the Roslagen archipelago, both by car and boat. Many visitors continue to islands such as Arholma or Fejan.
