Pythagoras Industrial Museum & Children's Pythagoras

The Pythagoras spark-ignition engine factory operated from the late 19th century until 1965. Today, the factory remains untouched - along with offices and workers' homes - as a living industrial museum. Guided tours take you through a factory full of stories, machine sounds and human life.

Engines were made here and shipped all over the world, and to this day you can still hear the clatter of the machines during guided tours. Wander through offices with original furnishings, see a workers' home from the 1940s and finish with a coffee in the charming café in the old forge. There is also a small shop and the opportunity to book a conference in a genuine industrial environment.

Children's Pythagoras - play, learning and a little magic

In the large test hall, where the engines were once tested, today lies Pythagoras for children - a 500 square metre playground where children learn about technology and mechanics through play and curiosity. Here they can put on work coats, punch in, experiment, build, recycle and communicate with Morse code.

The Family Exhibition ”On the magic of people and machines” tells you about the factory in a way that is suitable for both children and adults. In addition, in the summer Children's backyard, an outdoor area for free play and discovery.

The Children's Pythagoras is open when the museum is open, but closes during the coldest winter months. Tip: dress warmly on cold days - the hall can get chilly!
