CULTURAL HERITAGE

Österbybruk Manor

One of Sweden's best-preserved ironworks, founded in 1643. It produced world-class bar iron, particularly sought after in England in the 18th century. Today, the place is buzzing with life, with historical exhibitions in the manor house, art galleries, an orangery, shops and an active community culture. Solve riddles with the help of an audio guide where historical characters give you clues, go to an opera performance or take the kids to a prince and princess party.

Join us on a journey through time and space - wander through historic halls, peek into the manor kitchen and explore the mysterious cellar vaults during the ghost walk ”The Secret of the Old Manor”. There's something for the whole family to enjoy! Discover the Triller ceramics collection - a beautiful exhibition in the manor house with artefacts and works of art from the Triller couple's own workshop. Several guided tours with different themes are offered - for both curious children and history buffs. It is not possible to eat in the historic kitchen at the manor, but there is both Bistro Jernet & Wärdshuset Gammel Tammen in the area.
