Roslagsmuseet

Roslagsmuseet displays, cares for and preserves the common cultural heritage of Norrtälje municipality.

The Roslagsmuseet is located in a beautiful 18th century house in the centre of Norrtälje - with free entrance all year round. Here you will find temporary exhibitions, guided tours, school programmes and holiday activities for children and young people. The museum also organises lectures, workshops and other programmes for all ages.

The museum also works to support associations and actors in the field of cultural heritage throughout Roslagen.

Experience the museum - a space for history and creation

In the old arms factory Rifle factories you will find the current exhibition, the museum shop, a room about the restoration work and an experience room where you can touch objects and step into history.

Upstairs there is a large, bright surface for creative activities, temporary exhibitions, workshops and lectures.

During the summer, the Friends of the Museum run a café and shop in Zettersténska villa and museum park. The museum foundation also manages Hjertqvistska House in Norrtälje and a 18th century mill in Furusund - one of the oldest preserved in the region.

MARK AS FAVOURITE

"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"
