Where is Finnhamn?

What services are available on site?

Unlike more secluded islands, Finnhamn offers several amenities:

  • Kiosk in Paradisviken: Offers coffee and waffles.
  • Guest harbours: Three guest harbours with electricity, water and Wi-Fi.

History of the programme

The name 'Finnhamn' comes from the time when Finnish sailing ships docked here on their way to and from Stockholm. In 1915, the coal merchant Wilhelm Rönström built a summer villa on the island, designed by the architect Ernst Stenhammar. This building now serves as a youth hostel. In 1943, the City of Stockholm bought the island group to preserve the area as a recreational area for the public.
