The combat boat will pick you up in Kapellskär, and then set off through the Söderarm archipelago. It will be a fast-paced journey between the outer archipelago's skerries and islands, and through narrow military channels where you'll experience the boat's unique capabilities.
Once out at the facility, which received its first units as early as the 1940s and its last state-of-the-art units (the ERSTA battery) as late as 1977, the guide will take you back in time and tell you about the establishment and history of the Coastal Artillery.
You will be shown around the islands where large facilities with accommodation, a combat command centre, kitchens, a field hospital, generator rooms, etc., are hidden deep down in the mountain. The underground facilities are now sealed off and cannot be accessed, but were top-secret and protected sites until 2004 and were one of the world's most modern fixed defence facilities.
During the tour, you will visit two different islands that were part of Barrier Battalion Söderarm, and the tour will conclude with fika (a coffee and cake break). After the fika, the combat boat will take you back to Kapellskär.
Your guide during the tour is Björn Pettersson with a background as a submarine officer and later head of the naval Home Guard at Söderarm for 10 years.
A year's membership in the Swedish Combat Boat Association is included in the tour price.
