Live music, awarding of the Österåker Prize, speeches and citizenship ceremony - welcome to join the National Day celebrations at Ekbacken!

Österåker municipality invites you to a National Day celebration. There will be live music with Idol winner Margaux Flavet and the band Bror & Vänner from Popskolan. We will also be visited by Ingmarsö's national fiddler Anci Nordwall, the winner of the funkis festival in Österåker Jennifer Johansson and Österåker's Scouts and Eastcoast Cheerleaders, Space Minior Level 1.

The traditional speech is held by the chairman of the municipal executive board, Michaela Fletcher (M), who also presents the Österåkers resident of the year award.

The programme on the main stage starts at 14:00, with refreshments available at 13:00.

Free admission. Please bring something to sit on.

Ceremony for new Swedish citizens

At 13:00, a ceremony for new Swedish citizens will be held at Dansbanan with a speech by Ingela Gardner, (M) Chair of the Municipal Council. Musical entertainment with Riksspelman Anci Nordwall. Invited guests only.

Please leave your car at home

For traffic safety reasons, this year you will not be able to park in the Ekbackens car park or on the sides of Centralvägen. If you can't leave your car at home, you can park at Alceahuset, Sandkilsvägen or behind Trevehallen.

Parking at Alcea House is free on National Day between 12 and 17.

If you have a parking permit for the disabled, known as a handicap permit, there are a few parking spaces reserved for you at the Ekbacken car park.

Free buses

There will be free buses from the Alcea municipal building, Hackstavägen 22 outside the entrance, to the Ekbacken bus stop and back.
