Northbay Rovers are a traditional Irish band from Norrtälje who mix lively instrumental reels and jigs with catchy vocal tunes – perfectly accompanied by a Kilkenny or Guinness.
During the evening, you'll hear the songs released in the spring and summer: Donegal Reel / The Sally Gardens / The Salamanca Reel, Tripping Up The Stairs / The Irish Washerwoman, Aldrig igen (Johnny Jump Up), Johnny Jump Up and the mighty Thunder Rising in a new arrangement. The band has also become known for their interpretations of Gary Moore's instrumental classics, such as Blood of Emeralds and Over the Hills and Far Away, in a traditional Irish sound.
The release night on July 31st will be an all-night event with Northbay Rovers on stage, joined by musician friends – and with an extra spice: special guest Neil Carter, who will be guesting on Thunder Rising. Expect groovy trad, tight vocal harmonies, and a truly wonderful pub atmosphere.
Northbay Rovers are:
- Martin Björklund – violin, mandolin, vocals
- Ludwig Björklund – bodhrán, spoons, bouzouki
- Jens Engelbrecht – guitar, tenor banjo
