Olsson Estrada Band offers a vibrant and lively sound where Latin rhythms meet jazz, blues, and a Nordic sensibility. It's music filled with warmth, groove, and a joy of playing – where different traditions and expressions merge into something entirely unique.
The band was born from the meeting of two musical worlds:
Singer Vilma Olsson from southern Sweden and guitarist Danel Estrada from eastern Cuba, currently based in Stockholm.
Together, they create a personal sound where Cuban rhythms meet Scandinavian melodies and strong musical storytelling.
On stage, they are surrounded by some of Stockholm's most expressive musicians:
An energetic drum section, soulful double bass, Jeera Yuangngoen on saxophone and flute, and Rickard Valdés on congas – one of Sweden's most prominent percussionists.
Together, they build a dynamic and rhythmic musical landscape where influences from Cuban music, jazz, blues, and the Swedish jazz tradition are woven together with presence and spontaneity.
Olsson Estrada Band's music brings together stories from different places and cultures – from the pulsating rhythms of Havana to Nordic sounds and moods. The result is concerts filled with groove, feeling, and interplay, where each song is given new life on stage and the audience is invited on a musical journey between continents, traditions, and expressions.
