Berkinge Swimming & Fishing Camp

Child-friendly natural swimming pool, with several bathing jetties, diving tower, trampoline, pedal boat and water slides for both small and large children beautifully located at a restored mill pond in a historic mill environment. The area also has a kiosk, restaurant and barbecue areas for take-away food.

Boats and life jackets are available for hire, and for those interested in fishing, fishing licences are available for purchase. The lake is stocked with noble fish, making the chance of a bite extra high - perfect for an exciting fishing session and some fishing luck! (Summer activity)

Gräsöbaden

A family-friendly beach on Gräsö with both a sandy beach and sun-warmed rocks. You can also play mini golf, boules or volleyball here, and hire a boat or bike to explore the surroundings.

There's also a kiosk and a restaurant in the neighbouring camping area where you can replenish your energy after the day's adventures. (Summer activity)

Pine Park

A beautiful natural park with rocks to climb and a small sandy beach to swim at. Follow the path with the ”Pulskul” activity signs that challenge the whole family to play and move! There are also tennis courts, a paddle court, a pavilion and a natural balance course. Take advantage of one of the barbecue areas with sea views!

Powder puff

A year-round destination. In summer, the shallow beach with swimming, sandcastles, swings and beach volleyball attracts visitors. There are also kayak and SUP hire services, as well as a kiosk and café. In winter there is ice skating, curling, ice fishing and cosy barbecue areas. (Don't miss the walk towards Gammelhus, where small figures hide among stump castles and stones)...

Gimo high ropes course & zipline park

*(Suitable for older children/young people). There are 10 obstacles, 14 metres above the ground and a zipline park with four cable cars. The course is designed for both beginners and the more adventurous. (Summer activity)

Alunda outdoor swimming pool

Three pools and two water slides, open in summer. Swimming toys, pads and boards are available to borrow. There is also a miniature golf course and a kiosk with coffee, drinks and ice cream for those who need to top up their energy reserves. (Summer activity)

Path of the ant

With children in Öregrund

In Öregrund harbour is the old The lightship, which once helped boats navigate the sea - perfect for little explorers! (But play under adult supervision).

Here you will also find The ship Westera, which is the sister ship to Pippi Longstocking's father's ship Hoppetossa. In summer, the Friends of Westeras organise guided tours for those who want to know more. (Check the events calendar for dates).

Just next door is Close to the beach you can sit in an old oak boat or dip your toes in the water while waiting for a delicious ice cream or dinner.

The experimental workshop at Forsmark Mill

Kvarnen - Museum, mystery & café

In the old mill in Gimo there is something for all ages. Here you will find Knutmasso Museum, which tells the story of the unique Knutmasso celebrations that take place in Gimo every year on 13 January.

For the younger visitors there are The knot mass mystery - a playful family exhibition that takes children on a journey through Gimo's history and explores the mysterious origins of the celebration. Children can make their own gnome and play in a miniature world created by Sven Nordqvist, the author of Pettson and Findus. A destination for the whole family!

The Ice Mine - Dannemora Adventure 

Join us on an exciting climb in Dannemora ice mine - for young people and adults with ice in their stomachs! With harness, headlamp and helmet, a guide will take you down the historic mine shafts from the 16th century. The via ferrata trail goes through chilly underground and offers both adventure and cultural history. The tour takes about three hours and requires normal fitness.

Via ferrata involves climbing along fixed cables and steps, always secured with a harness - a safe form of climbing.
