Trails on Raggarön

Do you want to hike close to the coast? Raggarön has a rich network of paths that the Raggarö Local History Society has cleared - perfect for a weekend outing! You can park at the local history centre or at Havsvik nature reserve, which is also worth a visit. Along the paths there are many signs telling you about places and people who lived on Raggarön. The entire trail system is about 17 kilometres in total, and you can walk shorter or longer loops.

There are many nice places along the water to sit down and take a break, drink coffee and eat a packed lunch. The local community association is also in the process of constructing two barbecue areas in the area.

Raggarön is characterised by all the fishermen farmers who, over the course of generations, have created a small, broken, living archipelago landscape. There are grazed pastures, meadows, farm environments and forests all around, and the sea is never far away. Raggarön is an example of a typical agricultural landscape in the archipelago with many traditional features such as pollarded trees, hay barns, forest pastures and a small broken landscape. The flora and fauna are unusually rich in species. For example, the rare white wood lily and the orchid guckusko thrive in the lime-rich soil.

MARK AS FAVOURITE

"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"

Evert Taube / Swedish composer,
