Stroll in the Pine Park

The Pine Park has a rich system of paths and walkways. Some are more easy going with stone dust or sand, while others meander over roots and rocks in the forest. The path system is perfect for walking and running.

Sjömilen is a beautiful walking trail of 1852 metres (= one nautical mile). It is marked with red symbols in the form of a sea mark and leads you around the entire Hummelfjärden. It passes both the shorter green bridge and the long red bridge that has a nice seat in the middle. You also pass the stream where the fish migrate up to Hummelfjärd to spawn in the spring.

Swim, barbecue, play or take a break

There is also Tallparksbadet, a municipal bathing area with a small sandy beach, rocks, barbecue area and bench tables. There are barbecue areas and several picnic tables by the green bridge and along the south-eastern side of Hummelfjärd. There are benches here and there along the entire trail system for those who need a break. Toilets can be found at the entrance next to the tennis and padel courts. A short distance from the main entrance there is a natural playground where even you as an adult can test your balance! There is also a nice pavilion in the park, with beautiful views.

Plant and animal life

Listen to the song of the Eurasian Bittern In the old pine-dominated forest, there are species that have become rare in most forests. Around 300 vascular plants, various herbs, shrubs and trees have been recorded in the park, several of them red-listed. If you are lucky, in the evenings you can hear the sad and mysterious sound of the guillemot in Hummelfjärden. The pike migrate here from Öregrundsgrepen, which lies far away. There are eiders, goldeneyes, curlews, lapwings and cormorants. The white-tailed eagle soars here on its broad wings almost daily.

The seaside resort era in Öregrund

A seaside resort with a long history In the late 1880s, Öregrund began to be established as a seaside resort. A town hotel, a hot bathhouse and a society house were built. It was the Öregrund Bathing Association that decided in 1900 to establish Tallparken as an outdoor recreation area. Today there is an association called Friends of Tallparken. A nature-orientated playground is a short distance from the main entrance. Next to it is tennis and padel courts.

Find here

It is easy to get here on foot, by bike or public transport. You can reach the main entrance from the entrance road to Öregrund via Hummelvägen/Snöbärsvägen. There is also a small car park here. Tourist parking is available at Sven Perssonhallen.

"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"
