Here you walk through a multifaceted nature experience, surrounded by varied forest, open fields and exciting cultural land. Along the idyllic route there are several bathing places and shelters, making the walk along Roslagsleden a harmonious and versatile experience.
The stage starts in the picturesque Wira Mill, where the old courthouse, blacksmith's shop and charming buildings bear witness to a well-preserved historic mill environment. Wira Mill carries the history as the country's first blacksmith's shop, and today you can experience artistic blacksmithing and musical performances during the summer months.
The walk takes you through varied nature on gravel roads, paths and rocky outcrops. Gunnsjön offers an inviting bathing area with a sandy bottom and a jetty, and along the way towards Bergshamra you pass an exciting resting hut at Grevinnans Rå, a place with historical significance and the possibility of spending the night.
Bergshamra, located about 2 km from Roslagsleden, offers amenities such as a grocery store, pizzeria and medical centre. Accommodation is available at the charming Carlberg, only 500 metres from Bergshamraviken. Kvarngården between Bergshamra and Grovsta offers an idyllic setting with shelters, outhouses and drinking water.
The trail takes you along road 276 to Penningby, where you can enjoy a visit to the charming café in the interior design and gift shop Linneladan. Cultural and historical sights such as Wira Mill, Bergshamra, and Penningby Castle enrich the walk.
Bergshamra offers historically interesting houses and Kvarngården, where a watermill from the 1760s and other artefacts provide insight into the past. Penningby Castle, a fortress castle from the late 15th century, fascinates with its medieval basement floors and is home to the famous ghost of the White Lady. The Viking presence is evident at the Penningby crossroads with a rune stone and Borgarkullen, which once defended the entrance to Penningby.
