Stage 7 of the Roslagsleden trail starts at Penningby Castle and takes you through varied terrain along a narrow tarmac road. At Lännaby road junction, you can take a pleasant detour to Länna church, which sits beautifully by the church lake and offers a rich cultural-historical atmosphere.

Before reaching Norrtälje town, a rest stop awaits you at the picturesque Kyrksjön lake in Frötuna. Here you have the opportunity to deviate from the trail and follow the road that winds along Kyrksjön to Borgberget, where an impressive ancient castle from the Iron Age boasts 175 metres of ring walls.

In the capital of Roslagen, Norrtälje, the trail takes you through the residential area of Kvisthamra towards Kärleksudden. Here you can enjoy a summer café and sea bathing, and take a detour over the wooden bridge to Borgmästarholmen. From Kärleksudden, the Roslagsleden trail follows a scenic promenade into the centre of Norrtälje, where a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafés, art, events and museums await you all year round. The city also offers various accommodation options to meet different preferences.

At Vigelsjö gård, next to Lommarens sjö, there are swimming facilities, activities and catering.

Stage 7 is not only a hike through nature but also an immersion in culture and history. Länna Church offers Gothic paintings from the 14th century, and Nils Ferlin's poet's cottage by Kyrksjön provides an insight into the author's life. Länna old vicarage takes you on a cultural-historical journey from 1703 to 1959, while the octagonal ”Silverdasset” near the vicarage is a curiosity built by the vicar Carl Silwer in 1916.

Norrtälje has its own history, from the town charter in 1622 to the dramatic destruction during the Russian invasion in 1719. The 1730s Wallinska farms and the Town Hall on Stora Torget add further historical weight, while Norrtälje's role as a prominent seaside resort in the 19th century adds to the town's past.
