Railway embankments

Walk in the footsteps of history on the embankment that was once a railway. The railway embankments run from Norrtälje to Rimbo and from Rimbo to Rånäs. Here you can experience beautiful nature and exciting areas. The railway embankments are suitable for cyclists, walkers and horse riders.

Embankments run between Norrtälje and Rimbo and between Rimbo and Rånäs. Horse riding is permitted on the embankments.

Embankments of disused railway lines are pleasant walking routes and often pass through beautiful and interesting areas.

The sections prepared in Norrtälje municipality are between Norrtälje and Rimbo and between Rimbo and Rånäs.

Other routes are not organised but are partly in usable condition. They run between Rånäs and the municipal border to the north and from Rimbo to Hallstavik via Edsbro and Skebobruk. Norrtälje municipality is not responsible for inspections, maintenance or repairs on these routes.

The routes run on both municipal and privately owned land. Keep in mind the right of public access when travelling on the trails.
