Spend some extra time in Österbybruk and discover the unique mill environment before you leave. Just one kilometre from the start, the trail splits - if you turn left, you continue towards Risön, while the right choice leads back to Österbybruk via loop 12:1.
After passing road 290, you reach a burial ground with some 50 Iron Age graves, followed by views of Filmsjön and the small village of Film. From here, easy forest paths lead you onwards, paths that were once used to transport iron ore from Dannemora to Lövstabruk. The walk continues to the Vika farm in the southern part of Florarna, the gateway to southern Sweden's largest unspoilt mire area.
At Vika the trail splits. The western route takes you via Stormon and on through natural forest with stony and root-filled paths. Here is also the rest area Grillholmen, surrounded by reed-covered wetland. The eastern trail offers a shorter route, with more paths and a rest area at Staffansholmen. The route ends with the impressive Kungaspången, a 500 metre long passage across the marshland.
The stage ends at Risön, a farm dating back to the 18th century. There is a shelter, barbecue area, toilet and water during May-October. The farm can be rented through the County Administrative Board.
