Vallonstigen 5 km - Gimo

Vallonstigen runs in a loop through beautiful mill environments in Gimo. The loop is easy to walk and you walk along paved or gravel paths, or on pavements. There is also a short section along a forest path, but you can avoid that part if you wish. Along the path, there are information signs telling you about places you pass. The path is marked with blue and white colours.

The loop is intended to start at Knutmassomuséet/Kvarnen, at Bruksgatan 4. From here you follow a gravel path northwards. After passing a stable, the trail turns left onto a gravel road that takes you through the forest. Back at the settlement you can continue straight ahead, if you want to avoid the forest path. Otherwise, turn right. The forest path is wide and fairly easy to walk and is suitable for prams.

Soon you will come out on the country road that goes up towards Gimobadet. Here you walk south and get a nice view of Gimo manor and Gimo pond. From the end of Gimo pond, Vallonstigen follows Upplandsleden westwards. You walk along a paved footpath and information signs along the way tell you about old buildings and how life was in the past.

At Fyrbo, Vallonstigen leaves the Upplandsleden trail and turns back again. You walk past Gimo sports ground, the manor house and the beautiful mill environment around Lilldammen.
