Kulturstigen is a 6 km long trail directly adjacent to Österbybruk.
The path runs on dams past ponds that were built in the 16th and 17th centuries. A dam breast is an embankment of earth, stone and slag to keep the water in the pond. The trail passes many sites of cultural and historical interest with traces of early ironworking in the area. The dams that were created provided the water power needed to process Dannemoram ore into world-famous bar iron.
Suitable starting points are Simbadets Camping, Hembygdsgården or the bathhouse. Parking is available at all locations.
"In the bosom of Roslagen on the flowering island, where the waves lapping against the shore, and the reeds waving and freshly cut hay, it smells against me sometimes, there I sit on a bench in the bersong and watch terns and seagulls"
