Gillberga cauldron

Gillberga Gryte is a boulder and cave area near Hallstavik with large boulders, gorges, caves.

Häverö Priest's Meadow Nature Reserve

Häverö prästäng is a flower-rich nature reserve on the coast outside Herräng. Here, deciduous meadows, beach meadows and broadleaf forest meet in a landscape with over 300 plant species.

Birgitta's Ladder

The Birgitta Trail is a short hiking trail between Birgitta Spring and Skederid Church. Along the approximately 500 metre long path you will encounter quotes from Saint Birgitta's texts, taken from her many revelations. The walk goes through lush nature with open views of the landscape.

Kolarmoraån canoe trail

The Kolarmoraån canoe trail offers a peaceful paddling experience from Lake Vällen to Bysjön, through a quiet river and untouched wilderness. The trail passes several nature reserves and alternates open lake landscape with lush, protected river paddling.

Wiktor's ladder - Hargshamn

Wiktor's path in Hargshamn is a 2.5-kilometre trail that runs through spruce forests and older tree environments in the Harg area. The path is clearly marked and used all year round, especially by visitors who want to take a leisurely walk, jog or make a short excursion from the campsites in Hargshamn. The terrain is moderately hilly and suits inexperienced hikers as well as travellers who want to experience Swedish nature in an easily accessible way.

Angarnkilen and Bogesundskilen

Angarnkilen and Bogesundskilen are two green nature trails where untouched forest, cultural landscapes, excursion destinations and hiking trails meet and connect places like Åkersberga, Rydbo and Vaxholm. The Blue Trail also runs through the area - a popular hiking trail that takes you through Bogesundslandet and on towards Domarudden.

Roslagsleden

Roslagsleden is a 190 km long hiking trail that stretches from Danderyd in the south to Grisslehamn in the north, through six municipalities in Stockholm County: Danderyd, Sollentuna, Täby, Vallentuna, Österåker and Norrtälje. The trail is divided into 11 stages, varying between 9 and 25 km, and offers a variety of nature experiences, from forests and lakes to coastal landscapes and historical sites. Here are some of the stages that run through Roslagen.

Roslagsleden - stage 6 Wira bruk - Penningby

Wira bruk-Penningby, 22 km, Stage 6 of the Roslagsleden trail takes you through a multifaceted hiking experience from the historic Wira mill to charming communities such as Bergshamra and Penningby Castle. Through varied nature and along gravel roads, you enjoy swimming at Gunnsjön and discover cultural gems along the way.

Roslagsleden - stage 7

Wira bruk-Penningby, 22 km Stage 7 of the Roslagsleden trail offers an enchanting walk from Penningby Castle to Norrtälje town. Through historic sites such as Länna Church and an impressive ancient castle at Kyrksjön, the hiker gets a mix of scenic paths and cultural highlights. Charming cafés at Kärleksudden and bathing facilities at Vigelsjö farm complete the experience.

Roslagsleden - stage 8

Vigelsjö-Roslagsbro, 14 km Stage 8 of the Roslagsleden trail invites you to an enchanting nature walk from Vigelsjö nature reserve to Roslagsbro. Through forest paths, open fields and the bird-rich Ludden Lake, you can enjoy a relaxing moment at Gillfjärden's bathing area. Roslagsbro church, with its oldest altarpiece, adds a cultural dimension to the walk. This stage combines nature, history and culture in short stretches for a memorable walk in Roslagen.

Roslagsleden - stage 9

Roslagsbro-Bagghus/Gåsvik, 25 km Stage 9 of the Roslagsleden trail offers a varied nature walk from Roslagsbro to Gåsvik. Brosjön, Kvarnfallet and Rådasjön bathing spots are highlights along the way. A stop at Flottskär's jetty and a historical visit to Erikskulle hembygdsgård enhance the experience. The stage ends at Bagghusbron bridge near Gåsvik, where the Väddö Canal begins.

Roslagsleden - stage 10

Gåsvik-Sandviken, 9 km Stage 10 of the Roslagsleden trail takes you along the Väddö Canal towards Älmsta and through Storängen Nature Reserve. During the walk you pass the Roslagen Maritime Museum and Fågel-SKOGEN by Storfjärden.

Roslagsleden - stage 11

Stage 11 Sandviken-Grisslehamn, 20 km A spectacular hike along the Väddök coast with rugged landscapes, forests and views of the Åland Sea. Historic sites such as Mälbyhamn and Tullviksbäckens nature reserve add interest. Cobblestone fields and charming places such as Nothamn and Skottviken gild the walk.

The Uppland Trail

The Upplandsleden is an approximately 55-mile-long hiking trail that stretches from the bays of Lake Mälaren in the south to the Dalälven archipelago in the north. The trail passes through eight municipalities in Uppsala County, including Östhammar Municipality. It is divided into 45 stages and offers a variety of nature experiences, from forests and lakes to coastal landscapes and historical sites.

Upplandsleden - stage 10

Kolarmora - Gimo, 30 km Along this 30-kilometre stage of the Upplandsleden trail, a hike through varied landscapes awaits you, where you move from quiet forest paths to winding gravel roads. The journey starts at Kolarmoraån and takes you through almost untouched nature, far from buildings, which gives a sense of privacy and wilderness.

Upplandsleden - stage 11

Gimo - Österbybruk, 21 km On this stage you will experience a hike through historic mill environments and scenic woodlands. From Gimo, the trail leads you through varied terrain with mossy forest areas and beautiful paths that follow the natural shapes of the landscape, before you reach the historic Österbybruk.

Upplandsleden - stage 12

Österbybruk - Risön, about 20 km. This stage takes you from the cultural-historical mill town of Österbybruk to the vast marshlands of Florarnas nature reserve. Here you will encounter a hike that alternates between cultural heritage and untouched wilderness - from well-preserved mill environments to deep forests and open marshlands where silence prevails.

Stockholm Archipelago Trail

The Stockholm Archipelago Trail (SAT) is a 270 km long hiking trail that stretches from Arholma in the north to Landsort in the south, passing through 21 islands in the Stockholm archipelago. The trail is divided into stages of varying length and difficulty and each stage is accessible via regular archipelago boats. National Geographic has highlighted the Stockholm Archipelago Trail as one of the world's best destinations for 2025, with special honours for the new trail that includes several of the islands in the Österåker archipelago.

Stages in central Roslagen

Here the trail covers several stages, including Arholma, Lidö and Furusund.
These islands offer scenic walks through forests, along cliffs and past historic sites.
For example, on Lidö there are Lidö inns, guesthouses, cottages, glamping and fantastic nature.

Stages in southern Roslagen

Here the trail passes through islands such as Finnhamn, Ingmarsö and Brottö.
These islands offer a mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences.
