Winter activities and experiences in Northern, Central, and Southern Roslagen – from Östhammar and Norrtälje to Österåker.
Winter in Roslagen offers plenty of activities – both out in nature and indoors in the warm. Here is a ski slope in the middle Norrtälje, with a view of the innermost part of Norrtäljeviken and the winter landscape around the town. In the countryside and on several golf courses, long stretches are groomed cross-country ski track, often in both woods and open fields.
I the archipelago The winter landscape changes rapidly with the forces of nature. When the ice forms and the conditions are right, a vast expanse of ice opens up between the islets and skerries – a unique environment for Long-distance ice skating. To glide across mirror-smooth ice and hear the ice sing is for many a truly Bucket list experience.

Ice skating, Both on natural ice and in man-made environments such as ice rinks and ice arenas, it is a natural part of winter life in Roslagen. All around the area, volunteers are doing great work ploughing and keeping the ice clear – perfect for a spontaneous skate during lunch or an evening trip after work.
In the garden cities, the venues are often in winter hibernation, with frost glittering over smithies, manor houses, and old industrial environments. At the same time, the small towns offer Cosy cafes, hot chocolate, cream buns and cosy shopping for those who want to combine nightlife with indoor breaks.
